How to Stop Translation in Chrome

Google Chrome offers to translate webpages from languages different from your languages in settings.

If you find these prompts annoying, you can disable Chrome translation prompts. In this article, I will show you how to turn off translation in Chrome.

Turn Off Chrome Translation

To disable Chrome’s translation prompts:

  1. Open a new tab and go to chrome://settings/languages
  2. Switch the Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language you read toggle off.Chrome Disable Translation Prompt
  3. To enable translation prompts, you can come back here and switch this toggle back on.

If you want to stop Chrome from translating content in a specific language, you can add the language to the list on the chrome://settings/languages page.
