The latest dev channel release of Chrome OS gave us a new option to customize the desktop. We can now change the position of the taskbar or the launcher.
This is a small (but important) update. But why am I writing a separate post for this? Chrome OS and Chromebooks are growing beyond early adopters and geeks. Some of the new Chromies prefer their taskbars on the top (or on either sides) of the desktop will need some help figuring this out. Especially those who come from Mac, where the taskbar is on the top of the desktop by default. (right?)
How Do I Move The Taskbar on My Chromebook?
Okay, so here is the deal. Right click the taskbar go to the Launcher position menu. From here, you can choose top, bottom, right or left. The launcher changes position instantly. You can also set the launcher to auto hide as well from here.
Thanks François Beaufort
ps: This works only on the dev build as of now. It should be on stable builds in few weeks.
