Phone Hub’s Recent Photos feature displays recent photos from your phone on your Chromebook. In this article, I will show you how to disable this feature.
Disable Recent Photos on Chromebook
One way to disable recent photos is to turn off Phone Hub completely. However, if you want to use other features of Phone Hub and only hide recent photos, complete the following steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- Click Connected Devices.
- Select your phone from the list.
- Click and disable the Recent photos toggle.
Recent photos from your phone will no longer be visible on your Chromebook’s Phone Hub.

I actually don’t have this option under settings. I’d enabled the flag chrome://flags/#enable-phone-hub-camera-roll, but the feature was not working, an option to set it up in the Phone Hub didn’t work. So I didn’t the set up message in the Phone Hub.
Now I tried to getting it back by disabling-reenabling the flag, with no luck.
What happens if you change the flag status to “Default” ?
Thanks for replying. Same situation with Default, no luck.
Maybe I should try to forget phone and reconnect, but the Phone Hub is so finicky, and everything else works well now…
Ok, I finally fixed it. For the record, I am in stable (102). What I did:
1) Enabling the flags you get if you search for Phone Hub in Chrome flags (chrome://flags/#eche-phone-hub-permissions-onboarding, chrome://flags/#enable-phone-hub-camera-roll), thanks @Rob_7904
2) In ChromeOS settings, under Connected devices, forget the phone and reconnect it
3) In the phone, under Connected devices, double check that sharing phone media and photos is enabled
4) Follow the instructions to enroll the phone again: https://support.google.com/chromebook/thread/102221746/how-to-make-phone-hub-stay-connected?hl=en
Thank you for sharing this with us!
This Flag is only available & working in the Canary & Developer Channels of ChromeOS…
This is a handy feature to have. It’s still not fully polished since it doesn’t show the photos that you have taken that second or that minute.
It actually show recently taken photos for me, I am in Stable channel (102)
