In this article, I will show you how to shut down your Chromebook. This will be a quick one. So let’s get started.

Shutting Down a Chromebook

To shut down a Chromebook:

Click the system tray on the bottom-right corner of your Chromebook desktop. This is where you see the WiFi and battery icons.

The system tray popup appears. You will find the shutdown icon here. Select shut down to shut down your computer.

Your Chromebook will now power down. The next time you need your Chromebook, open the lid, and it will be switched on automatically.

does the shutdown icon look like “the time”? Then does it take you
to sign out and does that do the final Shut Down or do you need to click the icon to the right of “sign out” to do the final shutdown?

the tabs across the top of the screen that allow opening pages freezes up for no apparent reason. Sometimes it restores after I close my computer, but not always. It forces me to click on the down arrow on the right of the top bar and select the page to open. What’s wrong?
