This article explains how to rename Chrome profiles. Google Chrome allows you to create multiple profiles to keep browsing history and bookmarks etc separate.
This is useful when you share the same computer with other users or to keep your work and personal browsing separate. Changing Chrome profile names for different users or purposes will help you keep them organized too.
How to Rename Chrome Profile
To rename a Chrome profile:
- Click the Settings (three dots) icon.
Click the settings icon next to the profile icon on the top-right corner.
- Click “Settings” from the list.
From the list that appears, click Settings.
- Click “Chrome name and picture”
Click “Chrome name and picture”. The Edit profile screen is displayed.
- Enter the new name in the field.
In the text field for the profile name, enter the new name.
The new profile name is automatically saved.
Change Chrome Profile Icon
You can use the same screen to change the profile icon as well. You can choose from the list of icons on the Edit profile screen or upload your own image.
To select a new image, click the image. Changes will be automatically saved.
