There is a possibility that you read about this from more than one blog already. Microsoft’s new browser Edge will soon become a
I still decided to write about this because I think it is a huge event in Chrome’s history.
This reminds me of how Amazon took Android and built its Fire tablet lineup. It also raises questions on how different Microsoft’s take on Chromium will look and feel like.
I really like the recent Microsoft design changes, especially the Windows 10 UI. That makes me hopeful that they won’t build anything ugly.
Beyond the UI and external elements, it is said that the new Edge will support existing Chrome extensions too.
This will be huge!
Imagine Windows 10 getting installed on millions of computers out-of-the-box support for Chrome extensions. If you are a Chrome extensions developers, this is where you will jump and dance and buy free drinks for everyone in the bar.
It is also said that the Chromium based Edge browser will be available on all platforms. That’s pretty nice too!
It will be really exciting to see this in action when released. I will surely test the new browser when it becomes available. I am also planning to write about it here too, if you guys are interested, let me know in comments!
So, what are you plans? Want to give Chromium-based Edge a try or, you’ll stick with Chrome?
PS: Does this mean we will be able to run Chromium based Edge on Chrome OS as an Android app?
