If you click and hold the back or forward button on Chrome, you will see the complete history of that particular tab. This useful little feature is coming to Chrome for Android too.
If you touch and hold the back button on Chrome for Android now, it doesn’t do anything. This will soon change. Google has already added code for an experimental flag to start testing this feature. Here is the code:
const char kLongPressBackButtonForHistoryName =
“Long press back button for history”;
const char kLongPressBackButtonForHistoryDescription =
“Long press the back button to display ”
“navigation history. This flag is for mobile phones only.”;
This code showed up in the Chromium repository yesterday. I do not see this flag yet in Chrome for Android Canary version. This should show up in the Canary version very soon.
When it is available, enabling this flag will turn on the long-press-for-history option on Chrome for Android. If this is a feature that interests you, stay subscribed to Chrome Story for more developments on this story!
