The “Cast Devices Available” menu in Chrome OS displays all the Cast enabled devices in the same network. Your TV connected with Chromecast, Chromecast Audio and even Google Home devices show up in is list. Google is assigning specific icons to these devices based on their type.
Currently, this list shows the same TV like icon for all the devices. When this change is implemented, you will see separate icons for Chromecasts and Chromecast Audios. Here is the commit log:
tray: Cast tray now shows different icon for different types of devices.
The icons now match the ones show on the chrome media router interface.
They used to just show a generic TV for all types. Some of the icons
change depending on if the build is chrome branded, this is also to
match the media router interface.
The bug associated with this commit has more details. A lot of it! We have plenty of screenshots to look at, which will give you a clear idea of what the team is working on. Here you go:

Casting to Hangouts?
I don’t know about you, but the ability to cast to a Hangout, I didn’t know about that. I first thought I have found some new feature that Google is yet to announce. But then I found the official Help Center article explaining this feature.
Then there are those Chrome icons in that list. Here is what I think. Unless I am missing something obvious here, this could be the Chrome becoming Cast Receiver thing that I talked about in an earlier post. That’s however a wild guess based on those icons alone!
Anyways, when this update lands in your Chromebook, which might take few weeks, you will definitely notice this welcome change. Stay tuned for more Chrome OS updates!
