A few months ago, Google added a Chromecast notification that shows up on all devices on the same network while casting. Google is currently working on improving this feature.
This is a feature appreciated by a lot of people and hated by some. Imagine you have five phones connected to your WiFi network, and one of them starts casting. This notification shows up on all five devices. What Google wants to here is to allow anyone on the network, assuming that they all are watching the TV along with the person who started casting, control playback.
Whether you like this feature or not (you can disable it), Google is working on improving this notification. Things are not perfect yet. However, Google now shows a one liner explaining what this notification is about. This should stop people who are not aware of what Chromecast is from messing with the playback, or even stopping it. Google is also moving the play/pause button the front, replacing the settings icon. That order makes more sense to me.
We might see further improvements or changes on this notification in the future. Personally, I would love to see app specific controls being added there. Do you have anything in your wishlist?
