Google Announces HP X360 11 G1 Chromebook

HP’s X360 series is where the company puts their convertible devices. The premium ultrabook HP Spectre x360  comes from this family. HP is adding a school-friendly 360 convertible Chromebook to this series, the HP X360 11 G1.

Google announced this new Chromebook along with the news that Chromebooks are doing really well in Swedish schools:

Today we’re excited to announce HP is bringing its addition to the family with the HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 Education Edition, available in mid-April. HP’s rugged 360 degree convertible Chromebook will feature USB-CTM charging and optional stylus and world-facing camera capabilities designed for the specific needs of schools.

We will have to wait some more time to get a detailed specs sheet on this Chromebook. For now, Google has shared a picture of this upcoming Chromebook.

As Chrome OS takes over the market share from macOS and iOS, the Google Play Store support for Chromebooks will be the biggest piece in their marketing puzzle in coming months. This HP Chromebook made for schools, with its convertible form factor and this early announcement on the Google blog, hints that Google will be pushing this device really actively in this market.

Stay tuned for more details!
