Slingbox’s SlingPlayer App Gets Chromecast Support

Here is one more major app announcing Chromecast Support. Slingbox, a service that encodes local video for transmission over the Internet to a remote device has added Chromecast support to its app.

From the official announcement post:

Every day, we hear your suggestions about how to make Sling better. Over the past few months, we’ve heard about one thing more than any other via your social media messages, emails, and calls: Chromecast. We’re ecstatic to announce that Chromecast support has arrived for Slingbox M1, 350, and SlingTV/500 customers using the Slingplayer app on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones. Support for Android tablets will be rolled out soon.

Sounds like Chromecast support was one of the most asked-for features. Android tablet users will have to wait for a while, but for the rest of you out there with a SlingBox, enjoy.
