How to Disable Google Now on Chrome and Chromebook

Google Now is Google’s  intelligent personal assistant that is available within the Google Search mobile application for the Android and iOS operating systems. Recently, Google added this feature was added to Google Chrome as well, bringing the service to Desktops and Chromebooks. This guide explains how you can disable Google Now on Chrome.

If you have Google Now turned on, on multiple devices, you will need to manage your location settings for each device independently, Google says. That means you can disable Google Now on Chrome, without hurting your experience on your mobile device.

How to Disable Google Now on Chrome and Chromebook

 

  1. Click the icon  in the lower right corner of your computer screen (on Windows) or the upper right of your computer screen (on Mac) to open the Notifications Center.
  2. In the Notifications Center, click the gear icon on the bottom right corner (on Windows) or the upper right corner (on Mac).
  3. Uncheck the box next to “Google Now”.

That should take care of disabling Google Now.
