Chromecast Support is Coming to Embedded Youtube Videos

Right now, if you find a video embedded on the website, and want to send it to your Chromecast connected TV, there is only one way (other than the experimental tab casting). Youtube is experimenting with a new feature, a send to Chromecast button, for embedded videos from Youtube.

Once this is ready, Chromecast owners can send videos directly from any third party website where it is embedded to their Chromecast connected TV.

The team is still testing this feature, and this option shows up randomly to some users. Here’s why according to a YouTube spokesperson:

“With more videos coming to YouTube every minute we’re always experimenting with ways to help people more easily find, watch, and share the videos that matter most to them. As always, we’ll consider rolling changes out more broadly based on feedback on these experiments.”

So, don’t be surprised if you find a “send to” link on an embedded youtube video.
