Scratchpad Is Moving to Google Keep

In a no-surprise-here move, Google has made it official that Scratchpad will be moved to Google Keep. This was an expected change because Google stopped development on the official note taking app Scratchpad a couple of months back.

Save Your Scratchpad Notes

Google has given instructions on how to save or download Scratchpad notes. However, it is not clear if they will be moved across to Google Keep. Here is the official instructions: If you have unsaved notes in Scratchpad, make sure you save them. Open Scratchpad, and you’ll have the choice to save your notes online or download your notes in a .zip file. At any time, you can backup your notes online:

  1. Open the Chrome menu Chrome menu and go to Settings > Extensions.
  2. Find Scratchpad on the list of installed extensions.
  3. Click Options.
  4. Enable syncing to Google Docs.
