The Chromebox lineup from Samsung is getting quite a bit of updates these days. Just a few days ago we saw a redesigned Chromebox, and today we get to hear about the Intel Core i5 processor that’s making its way to Series 3 Chromebox.
Amazon lists this for $413.99, in stock. Model number is XE300M22-A02US.
Like earlier Chromebox models, the new version features 4GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 6 USB 2.0 ports, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet. There’s no VGA port, but there are DisplayPort and DVI jacks.
Who is This For?
I do not think Chromeboxes are popular among consumers compared to Chromebooks. But still, Google and Samsung is busy redesigning and re-configuring the Chromebox lineup. Why?
I think they are eyeing the enterprise market.
For companies looking for Chrome OS devices to replace their existing windows PCs, this will be a really good option. Do you know why?
They can buy a Chromebox and use their existing monitor, keyboard and other peripherals.
Don’t you think that’s a good option for businesses since they have already invested so much in those monitors and keyboards?
Chromebooks are doing really good in the consumer market these days, and the education sector has also responded to certain extend. It is the corporate that Google has to convince now. Chromeboxes will lead this advance.
