Free 100 GB on Google Drive for Chromebook Users – More Details

A few weeks ago reported that Chromebook users will soon get 100 GB free space on Google Drive as a promotion, thanks to my friend François Beaufort‘s research.

We have a little more details now. Some good news and some bad ones.

For starters, it sure is coming. I found few people worried that this was only a rumor, but no, the feature is coming pretty soon from the looks of it and my guess is, a few new chromebooks for the holiday season along with free 100GB promotion.

More Details of Free 100GB Promotion for Chromebook Users

First up is some bad news. Cr-48, Samsung Series 5 and Acer AC700 users won’t get this free offer. This will be for the second generation Chromebooks and Chromeboxes, and most probably for the new ones coming to market.

When this is ready, you’ll be redirected to where you will get to take this offer home.

Now to the code change that makes this news. The description says “Change link in the new Drive promo” You can check it out here. If you go through the code a little carefully, like François Beaufort did, you will get to see the offer in the making!

So, who’s getting a new Chromebook this holiday season?

Dinsan made Google Chrome his default browser within hours of its release. He fell in love with Chromebooks from the day he first touched one and is currently obsessed with Chromecasts.

Too bad. I have the Cr-48. But I am pretty grateful for it anyway. I have 50 GB from I wish there was a way to integrate this like Drive in my devise.

I’d *love* an extra 100GB of promotional space. My only concern is what Google will do with Google Apps accounts. I use one for my personal email address (my family’s domain name), and I can see why Google may not offer it for those “business” users.

Either way, this is going to make a lot of people happy.
