During the launch, Google had mentioned that Chromebooks will be available only through online stores. This was to avoid confusion among consumers, in case if they pick up a Chromebook assuming that it is similar to Mac or PC.
This is not true anymore. London’s Currys and PC World on London’s Tottenham Court Road today became the world’s first Google Chromebooks store.
Update: A blog post from Chrome team says “We’ll be opening Chrome Zones in additional locations in the United Kingdom over the next few months, so stay tuned. If you’re in London, do drop by and say hello!” So, more of these coming our way guys!!
Mark Slater, category director at Dixons Retail, said: “It’s the most revolutionary laptop on the market and as the leading electrical retailer in the UK we are thrilled that our flagship store has UK exclusivity to showcase this new technology to our customers. We have dedicated staff who have been specifically trained in using the Chromebook to demonstrate all its unique benefits and features to customers.â€
So, if you are in London, you can visit  this Chromebook sore to get a demo before making the final decision. I hope they set up more shops like this in other cities as well !!
Anyone here waiting to touch and feel one before buying?
