Download Adobe Reader, Get Google Chrome FREE!

Google Chrome is now bundled with Adobe Reader. Adobe will ask you if you are interested in downloading Google Chrome along with the Reader X.

Chrome Adobe Reader Bundle

I know, I know … Google Chrome has a built in PDF viewer even though it is not perfect as the Adobe Reader, it does a decent job for viewing PDF files during your regular browsing. But why these two bundled together?

Well that’s the question that I have been asking myself as soon as I saw this news. If it was the other way around, say, Google asking you to download Adobe Reader X along with Chrome, so that you will have full PDF experience, it would have made more sense right? Let me know what you guys think about it!

It used to be Google Toolbar that the company tried to popularize using these ‘bundles” with Skype, Adobe Reader, Real Player, WinZip and more. But now Google Chrome has joined the league.

Good luck anyways, Google!

ps: I visited the Adobe website to check this and I was asked to download McAfee, not Chrome. Anyone else getting this Chrome offer?

Uh, you must’ve written that backwards. Adobe Reader is not as perfect as Chrome’s built-in reader!

It does everything I need and it’s so simplistic! I wish I had it as a standalone viewer.

First saw this when I downloaded Flash for Firefox. You can still uncheck this option if you don’t want Google Chrome.
