A new Google Chrome feature is getting ready in Chromium builds where things take shape first. Today’s build has a something interesting added to “About:Flags” page. “Web Page Prerendering”
Web Page Prerendering.
This is part of what Google has been trying to do with most of their products these days. With the help of information that is available about you, Google will try to guess what you are thinking, or what you are going to do next. Google scribe, google instant , and lot of others products are getting this edge.
On chrome, they will try to guess which page you will be going next to, which link you will click, and then keep that page ready in the background so that it loads way faster than normal.
I am still looking for more official information and documentation about this feature. However, my initial research took me to this bug and this. Preloads for the page says, “Feature description: Pre-load pages in background tabs for “wicked fast” page loads”
Will keep you posted about how this gets evolved. Stay tuned !!!
