Chromizer – Create your own Google Chrome Theme in a Minute !

Olegi4 created this simple tool for fun, and to learn the chrome API. What it gave us ,Google Chrome users, is a simple tool that makes Chrome themes in a minute ! To make things simple, the theme will make change only to the new tab page wallpaper, and not to the colors of your tab, menu etc.  The new tab wallpaper is actually, where Google Chrome themes do most of their magic.

Now, here is Olegi4 himself explaining things to you, in this guest post. Thank you Olegi4 !

I often use Google Chrome and in a moment became interested, how can I change the default look of the application.

The most common ways:

Disadvantages of existing solutions:

Google Chrome Themes Gallery

  • A small selection of themes.
  • Many themes are very colorful and this may prevent, for example, read the site name in tab.

Such programs as CRX Theme Creator, Chromium Theme Creator

  • I found the program only for windows (I work on MacBook)
  • Theme creation takes a long time — download, launch application; select pictures and colors for all browser elements; pack extension; test in browser; edit, pack, test again etc.

The most important part of the theme for me a new tab wallpaper. I started to look for a program for quick changing picture in new tab, but found nothing. So I decided to write such tool myself. So let me introduce you Chromizer.

Chromizer is a balance between choice of ready-made themes and time loss to creating own theme. It’s flexible, simple and fast in one time.

How it works?

  1. User chooses PNG image for creating theme and clicks “Create theme”
  2. Downloads and confirms theme installation

Now, here is a video. Hope you guys will enjoy my tool, as much as I did making it ! Your suggestions are welcome !
