Yes, I think I have used the correct word, “SEXY” … you will know when you look at screenshots. You can’t ignore these screenshots from the dev version that I am using, and mind you, this is the best part of using google chrome dev version, I can show you the latest, with screenshots, even before they are ready, for the rest of the world, you are lucky !! Â ( If you want to see more posts like this, simply subscribe to RSS or via email. )
When Google chrome was introduced few months back, people didn’t quite like the new tab pages showing most visited websites. There was no option to edit thumbnails displayed there. Then they introduced thumbnails editing and removing … now, the new tab page has become sexy, you will no longer want to remove that.
You can
- Hide Thumbnails
- Show them as a list instead of thumbnails
- Hide Recent Activities ( tabs you closed recently, your last session )
- Hide Recommendations
- Drag and Drop thumnails and re order them the way you want !
Now, that’s more freedom, isn’t it ? Apart from making the new tab pages more user friendly and useful, the looks have improved a lot, and now looks really soft on eyes. I really love to see if this has happened on linux version too, but unfortunately, my linux laptop died recently, and I should take it to the service center, and once that’s back, I will have news for Linux people also.

I like things when they become ( very ) official. Â There are themes and plugins available for g-chrome already, but I did not post about them yet, and this is my reason. It’s not that I don’t like to test things, I love testing, of course and I am using g-chrome development version on both my windows and linux installations.

When things go official, they become more easy for users to understand and implement. For example, installing a new theme or plugin now, that’s before they go official, requires few steps that an average users may not be able to follow. But, when plugins and themes are official, it may take only couple of mouse clicks, to get you going.
Okay, so to the news of the day, this is again ( following news from the dev version ? check out archives and subscribe to RSS for more )  from my development version running on windows XP. I see an option to  reset google chrome theme to default. Even Though I don’t see anything else other than this about themes or plugins, this is of course a good sign. We are just a few more steps away from implementing themes and extensions.
You will see more colors on google chrome very soon. Make your g-chrome look cute, sexy, or hot .. whatever you want !!
