google chrome os chrome news Google Chrome Preloaded on Dell and Sony Computers and Laptops ?

google chrome laptop

The first thing firefox users do when they get a new windows computer or laptop is, to open Internet Explorer and download their friendly firefox. IE was the only browser preloaded on windows. For us Google Chrome users, things will be different, very soon.

Next time when you purchase Dell or a Sony Vaio, you may find Google Chrome already installed on your computer. This is because Google has a deal with these companies, to distribute their browser pre- loaded on their laptops or computers.

Is This Really New ?

Not really, at least the strategy is not. Google already have deals with Dell computers to distribute Google Toolbar on their computers, making Google the default search engine for their users. Now that Microsoft is trying similar methods with HP to make Bing the next big thing, Google has started playing their game too.

They already have a deal with Sony, to make Google Chrome default browser for their Vaio series computers. Since Sony vaio series is something with a very small market share, we should expect something bigger very soon. Let’s say, if this deal works out well. Since the deal with Dell for toolbars is due anytime soon, there could be a new deal for chrome .. what you think ?

Was the Sony Deal just an experiment of some sort ? Is something bigger on its way ?

If this is not the current version of your browser, you will see an “upgrade” link next to it, click it, and then restart the browser when upgrade is done.
Along with this new security patch, this release also contains
  • A new notification at startup that makes it easier to set Google Chrome as the default browser. If you don’t want Google Chrome to be the default browser, you can click ‘Don’t ask again’.
  • A new version of Gears (0.5.16.0)

Most of you will have the latest version installed, automatically. Surprised ? What Google
