This one is more powerful than the $329.99 version with 1.9GHZ Intel Celeron /Intel Core i5. And the price, is a bit higher for its better processing power. With 2.5GHz Core i5, you should get a solid <a title="“Hang with us.
Comparing Two Chromeboxes

The only major difference I could make out was the processor. RAM, SSD memory, all are same for both Chromeboxes. Do you find any other difference?

Ask me that question today.

That day is here guys!

Google can call its browser, the number one browser of the interwebs. According to the latest figures from StatCounter, Chrome is the most popular browser, leaving Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox behind.

Google Chrome has been growing steadily since it’s launch. It took the title of the second popular browser 2011 December. There is only a tight margin for Google Chrome as of now, but we will see the lead increasing steadily over the coming weeks/months.

Globally, Chrome has more than 30% market share. The percentages are not the same everywhere. Here is a detailed analysis from The Verge.

Asia and South America, and even still the numbers aren’t necessarily what you’d expect. IE is in the lead in Japan with a more than 50 percent share, and things are even more skewed in Chinaand South Korea, where roughly three quarters of traffic comes through Microsoft’s browser. Chrome is in the lead in India, but it’s only by 8 percent. The real difference is inSouth America, where Chrome has a nearly 50 percent share overall

Celebration time!

Why am I talking about Chrome Sync now? I will tell you.

Yes, Google Web History is going to be integrated with Chrome history. The end result of this is nothing to do with Google Web History, it is just that Google used an existing service to make things easier. The real change with this integration is this, your browsing history is going to cloud!

Chrome History In Cloud

The change landed on Chromium few hours back (thanks my friend of send it to me!) and here is the comment on this code change

“WIP for integration between Chrome and Google Web History.”

I downloaded the latest build but couldn’t find any visible sign of this change, but I’ll keep an eye on this feature for you all.

Everything is going to cloud through Chrome Sync. Next thing I want there is the visited links history. I do not know if there is already a way to do this, guys, do let me know if you know about any extension that can do this job.

Here is a quick guide to install Chrome on Ubuntu 12.04.

Install Chrome on Ubuntu12.04

The process is pretty simple. The package installer/software center that comes with Ubuntu makes things easier. So, here are your clean and simple steps.

Two Things To Do After Installing Chrome On Ubuntu

First thing is Chromesync. On completing the install,Chrome will ask you if you would like to set up Chromesync. This will help you import all your bookmarks, apps, extensions, settings and themes etc if you were using Chrome with Chromesync on another PC. Enter your password and set this up, if you prefer to do so!

Second thing you might want to do is making Chrome always available on the Unity Launcher. To do this, right click on the Chrome icon on Unity sidebar and select “Lock To Launcher”

Hope you got Google Chrome working on your new Ubuntu computer. If you have questions, please do email me, I will try to help you find some answer. I am planning to post some more Ubuntu+Chrome related posts soon, so stay subscribed to this blog!

Until I saw this Chrome Theme Creator app by Google. I am going to show you how you can create your own Google Chrome theme in just two simple steps. Let us get started.

My Chrome Theme is a Chrome App created by the Google Chrome team to help you make your own Google Chrome theme. It is simple and easy to use.

There are only two steps involved. A third one if you are interested in sharing the theme you created.

How To Create Your Own Chrome Theme

First step is to upload a nice image for your new theme to use. Second, add colors of your choice, and your are done. Let’s get to do it now.

Install the app from here.

Go to your new tab page and launch the new app

Click on Start Making Theme

Upload an image of your choice or use webcam to take one. The app will upload the image and show you a preview of how your new theme will look like.

You can click on “Adjust position” to make changes to how your image appears on the theme. Your options are

Fit to screen

Fill Screen

Tile Image

Custom

They all work similar to the options you get while changing wallpaper on your pc, except for custom. It lets you move your image and place it where you want it to appear. This of course depends on the size of your image uploaded.

At the bottom of this page, you have a slider with two options. Design Mode and Preview Mode. When you slide to the Preview Mode, it adds Chrome Web App icons to the theme and shows you how exactly your New Tab Page will look like with this new custom theme.

Click Continue to Step 2

Step 2 lets you change the color of the toolbar, new tab and background tab. You can either select a custom color for each one of them or click “I’m feeling lucky” to let the app choose colors for you, based on the image you have uploaded.

You can leave these three areas without applying custom colors. Your theme will use the default grey color when you do this. For some images at least, this will be the right choice.

Give a title to your theme and an optional description and click “Make My Theme”. Now apply your new theme and enjoy it! Don’t forget to share your new theme with your friends!

Google’s Job Offer Letter Comes In A Free Chromebook – WOW!! is an article from Chrome Story -

Here is another way to get a Free Chromebook in 2012. Get a Google Job Offer! Yes, you heard it correct. Google sends the job offer letter in a Chromebook.

I mean, the job offer letter is a pack of cool goodies which includes a Chromebook. When you open up the Chromebook, you get the offer letter – in a Googly way.

I found a post from a new Google Employee, all excited about how cool the offer letter way. Here is what he posted on Google Plus. Read on to understand how cool it is!

I am joining Google Mountain View in summer. As a cool start, here’s how to accept an google offer, in the most googly way possible.

1. Google mails an offer letter to you, along with all the goodies (a super comfy google hoodie made by american apparel, sunglasses, paper notebook, etc.)

2. You open the offer letter, and the familiar chrome browser starts. Wait, did I forget to mention that this offer letter is the super cool chromebook instead of a sheet of letter paper?!

3. Now you launch the Google Offer app, see a bunch of cool videos, drool over recent free food menu, make sure the number of zeros is correct, and sign electronically. (This is how you get the following screen.)

4. Finally, you androidify yourself as a noogler. What does it mean? I will leave it to your imagination or you can join google to find out!

I should thank everyone for the help along the process, especially Nitish and Vahab for the great summer internship experience, and Tim and Mukund for various advice.

I am looking forward to this exciting new stage of life!

Vow!! that’s cool. Isn’t it? Share it if you liked it

Here is a new one from Google.

Starting today, you can print to any FedEx Office® location in the US through Google Cloud Print. Simply choose “Print to FedEx Office” in the Cloud Print dialog, and you’ll receive a retrieval code that you can use at any FedEx Office® Print & Go self-service device at more than 1,800 FedEx Office stores across the nation. So if you’re on a business trip to California, you can submit a report for your colleague in New York to print out at the neighborhood FedEx Office.

So, you can now stop sending fax or printed stuff around. Send it to a fedex location near your recipient, and have them collect it from there. Yes, they will have to go there and collect it. Is this service free? Google’s blog post does not say it is free, so I would assume that there is a charge involved.

Google has added Canon to its list of cloud printer makers.

We’re also happy to add Canon to the list of companies offering printers that are Google Cloud Print Ready. Now you can choose from a variety of printers from Canon, Epson, Kodak and HP that make it easy to print from anywhere.

Also, you can use Chrome on Android to store some files in PDF format, with the help of Cloud Print, instead of printing hard copy.

Finally, we’ve made it possible to send documents to your phone or tablet running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich through Google Cloud Print. Once you install Chrome for Android Beta and sign in, your Android device will appear as a destination in the Cloud Print dialog. After choosing your Android device, a PDF copy of your document will open in Chrome for Android Beta. Next time you need to print something to take on the go, save some paper and “print” it to your Android device instead!

Now, the wait is only to get our hands dirty with Chrome for Android on all Android devices.

Google pushed a beta update for Chrome today. This update is for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This build brings home the new cool tool on Chrome to sync tabs. Open the new tab page and you will see “Other Devices” and here you will the list of open tabs across multiple computer/devices. For those who use Chrome on more than one computer, this will be really handy.

With a click, you can find and open the tab with your directions and be on your way. The tab’s back and forward navigation history is also included, so you can pick up browsing right where you left off. If you use Chrome for Android Beta, the tab will also be available on your phone, right there in your pocket when you hit the road.
