Chrome Adds Profile Switcher to Windows Taskbar for Easy Access

Over the years, Google has built a neat profile based browsing experience for shared computers. On Windows, the team is adding a new and fast way of switching profiles, from the taskbar.

This feature is currently available on Canary build of Chrome for Windows. Here is François Beaufort:

Chrome Canary for Windows has now a fast profile switcher in the Windows Taskbar making it easier to switch profiles on a shared computer.

And if you’re not sure why you may need chrome profiles and guest mode, have a look at http://chrome.blogspot.fr/2014/08/this-time-its-personal.html

For those who have multiple Chrome profiles set up on their PC, this will add the option to right click the sidebar and easily switch profiles. This is currently in Canary, so expect this to land on your computers within a few weeks from now.

Think you’ll use it? Let me know your thoughts!

I noticed Chrome Dev channel ‘s last update removed the ability to quickly switch profiles in the titlebar drop down menu, so this will be a welcome addition.
