How To Disable Google Chrome’s Action Box (The Plus Icon)

I don’t know how many of you have this new action box on Chrome yet. If you are on a beta or dev version of Chrome, you already have this.

.. and not everyone will like it.

.. especially because it removes the bookmarks icon from the omnibar and puts it under the action box menu. So, how do you remove it? It is pretty simple. Follow these steps!

  1. Open chrome://flags from your omnibar (addressbar)
  2. Look for Action box ( description will read Disables the “Action Box” experimental toolbar UI.)
  3. Click Enable under Action Box
  4. Restart Chrome (close all windows and open again)
  5. Done!

Check the omnibar again now, the Action Box should have disappeared.

Did that work for you? 🙂
