Bookmarks Moving To New Tab Page?

by Dinu on 03/08/2011

Looks like Google Chrome team has some more plans for the bookmarks UI. On a recent Chromium build, there is an addition to the new tab page, “Bookmarks”. Here is how it looks like. Click on the image to zoom in.

So, what do you think this is for? Aren’t we going to have bookmarks on the new tab page along with apps and the most visited websites?

I can’t wait to see how this evolves. I am pretty sure that we will see some more interesting UI concepts soon on this side. I will be really cool to see how the team puts everything together on that new tab page area. Will it be a list like in the favorites section of IE? Will it have thumbnails like the most visited websites?

Questions or answers anyone?

Love it!
I noticed it too, and I feel that this is part of what ChromeOS will need to be an efficient OS from a Desktop-style workspace point-of-view (if my sentence makes sense XD)

I wonder if they’ll incorporate the now fairly dormant, outdated History page. :)

Yes, I am hoping that they will introduce something really cool!

I thought I saw that a while ago on Canary. I gather that Chromium doesn’t auto-update, so it’s a bit more difficult to check. We still don’t have any idea about what the page will look like. They might make something completely new, there seems to be the scope to do that.
