hmm , yes, a shiny version of it may be ?
I’m not sure I liking this new logo :-/
why ? what happened ?
Can somebody photoshop how the Canary and Chrome icon would look like in this style? Would be very nice!
that’ll be interesting to see !!
You want a photoshop version for chrome?
here is the chrome one: http://7pmforums.co.cc/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=602.0;attach=650;image
I didn’t make a canary one, but i will soon
I like the old version better. This new logo is looking a tad “boring”
LOL … will it look better when they change colors and make original Google Chrome colors ?
It looks boring and ugly, but it looks simple and cool too!
do you think it will look better with Chrome’s original colors ?

I think it looks nice, and it’s nice to have a change. By the way, do you think Chrome stable will be updated today (8th) for Pwn2Own? It’s a bit before 11:00 in California (Google’s place), and there’s been no update yet. The Chrome blog says about an update, but does not say the build.
Oh, it looks like we already have 9.0.597.107 from earlier in the week.
Oh no, it does say TODAY’S STABLE release, and that was two hours ago.
yes, we have a new Stable release today
Yeah, v10! 10.0.648.127 to be precise. That’s quick, when were v9 stable and v10 beta released?

Here’s my try, on the chrome colors.

Good! It looks quite modern and stylish (as if I know about that).
this is good ::D
nice =D
@ James
I think somewhere here

4 weeks and 5 days since v9 hit stable, so that was quick! This is obviously a Pwn2Own early release. Looking at it, they’ve made the sandbox stronger, but they have added more features (Crankshaft, chrome://settings and background web apps).

a little better one and bigger too
cool
there’ no optional? absolutely dislike!
if they are changing it on Chrome too, I doubt if there will be optional .. may be an extension can help ya ..
I doubt whether extensions will ever get that much permission. Anyway, you shouldn’t really be affected by it; how much do you actually see the logo in normal usage?
I haven’t like like this. Google needs to change it.

looks damn good !!!!!!!!!!
Hmm… I’m starting not to like that now.
I’m gonna post this as soon as I get home
Yeah mee too, idk what’s wrong with it, I just like the old one better. Maybe those gradients between colors are the ugly thing about it IMO. Anyways I’m sticking with the Faenza icon for now
Yes, the colours on this one are dull, and between colours they’ve tried to put a gradient, which doesn’t work. The TinyPic one is good though.
In the other discussion is a much better and less ugly hi-res version.

I love the old one, in relation to (possible) new icon/logo…
Well, here at 8 or 9 months I might get used to it!
But why the developers of the Chromium project don’t make an effort to solve usability problems?
No, a shiny new logo to reinforce the image and want to always be the best in the world. You have to have more HUMILITY!
I don’t really think Chrome’s like that, you’re confused with Firefox. Just think about it though: all Google wants from this is for more people to use their search. Most people have Google as their default search engine, or navigate to google.com (unnecessarily) to search. They even got some free (I presume) advertising from Pet Plan. So that is not the concern. They just want more people using the web.
They’ve done that for a bit by publicising cloud computing (Docs, Gmail, Calendar and co.), but a while ago they realised that browsers could do with a shake up. And there you have Chrome, aiming for people to have a nicer experience when browsing. Also, they don’t just care about their own browser. All of the big browser news of late is exactly what Google need. Other browsers are being forced to become better and give a nicer experience.
It’s a brilliant plan, and it looks like it’s working. Just think how many times you’ve searched for “Firefox 4 release date” or “pwn2own”, or how many times you’ve done some browsing to find what’s on Chromestory and then gone on to search for something else on Google. Or just how many times you’ve done a bit of browsing because it’s nice.
By the way, sorry for going off topic. I thought someone would like my loosely-connected thoughts.
For some reason, and connected to my last post, Bill Gates seems to have gone totally mad. Could someone please explain to me why in the UK there is a Microsoft advert discussing the advantages of cloud computing? If anyone has seen it, you may also recognise that that rubbish ad does not mention anything that could not be done without cloud computing. For those who don’t know, they basically do a bit of photo editing on a touch screen computer.
Oh, I get it! Microsoft are sending out this misinformation so that we think cloud computing is a needless and terrible system, thus more reliance on Office. So, I’ve answered my own question. Rant over.

I just noticed this on my new tab page. I am using a Cr-48 on the dev channel (not dev mode). Could it be the new chrome logo?
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/rnnvJ6c0XQ0qkOmPvG_KAA?feat=directlink
That looks fairly nice. I hope it is that logo.
I just tried clicking on it, and found that I can save it. It’s not very high resolution, but here it is: http://goo.gl/pHHGP
is there already a new icon on the about popup?
that one is more high res.
The about popup is different on Chrome OS; there isn’t a logo on it. Very uninteresting visually. Here is what you see:

Well, technically, it’s this: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Jw5On4SECN2cuyECW3HXqg?feat=directlink
ok
are there other places with the chrome icon?
did you take this from inside Chrome OS ?
Yes, this is from my Cr-48.
