Selecting Your Favorite Instant Search Type – Chromium Labs

by Dinu on 03/12/2010

Yesterday, Chromium Labs / Flags ( I still like to call it labs ) added an option to select your favorite type of instant search.  With this feature, you can choose which type of behavior the Omnibox should follow for your search queries from there.

Three Types of Instant Searches

Chrome will soon have three types of instant searches. You should be able to use one of your choice. I hope this makes it to the stable version soon, because I still have a feeling that they put it for experimenting and may go ahead with one of these versions leaving the other two behind.

Verbatim: This will load results in your browser window as you type them.
Predictive: This will load results in your Omnibox and load then in your browser.
Predictive no auto-complete : Search suggestions will appear in a drop-down but not in the Omnibox.

Which one of these will you choose, if you are to get only one ?

Is this only for Windows?

I don’t see this in the dev, beta, or stable channel for Mac.
