Is Verizon going to be one of the early carriers for Google’s Chrome OS Tablets ? You know, just like they are so buddy-buddy with Motorola and Google on Droid as an answer to Apple’s iPhone, they might want an iPad killer as well  .. ?
Yesterday, my Google reader was flooding with reports and blog posts about this news. All this rumors came out because of a  document. See the screenshot below.
The screenshot is mention of Verizon on one of the Chrome OS documents. Under Issue 3900 UI for 3G Connectivity which requires provisioning, connection management, usage management, billing & payments and cancellation we can see that the wireless company is referenced, writes thechromesource.com.
Also consider that one of the instructions
for the UI includes the need for the following notification:
Autorenewal Failed: Show notice and link to “VZW Account Managementâ€
Another topic discussion suggests users may be able to buy 5 gigabyte plans from the carriers for their Chrome OS devices. This sounds like it will work in a similar way to the deal Apple has with AT&T for the 3G version of the iPad.
VZW stands for Verizon Wireless., from TechCrunch.
Android based Droid and Droid X, The recent net neutrality document, Google is so in love with Verizon, or may be the other way, and this is a strong signal that Verizon will be getting a Chrome OS device in it’s early stages.
Techcrunch says “But imagine if Verizon offered Chrome OS netbooks at a subsidized price if you buy a data plan. That could certainly be a hot-seller. I’d buy one in a second.”
