How to Set up and use Google Chrome’s Inbuilt Form Auto Fill

Filling in your address with all those street numbers and names, each time you signup or submit some information on the web, you think its boring ? Here is a solution for you.

Google Chrome has an inbuilt form auto fill function that will let you save different addresses and use them on website easily.

How to Set Up Form Auto Fill Profile.

If you never got a prompt from Chrome asking if you want to save an address you submitted on the web, the first step of enabling this feature is setting up is  to create a new profile, ie save an address of yours. Follow steps below.

  1. Click the Tools chrome news  How to Set up and use Google Chromes Inbuilt Form Auto Fill menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Personal Stuff tab and find the “Form autofill” section. Make sure “Enable AutoFill to fill in web forms with a single click” is selected.
  4. Click Show AutoFill profiles.
  5. You can create as many profiles as you want to save different addresses and credit cards.
    • To save an address, click Add an address.
    • To save credit card information, click Add a credit card.
  6. Click Save when you’re done.

How to Use Form Autofill

When you’re on a form, type the name of the AutoFill profile you’d like to use in any field on the form. If Google Chrome is able to help you complete the form, your profile will appear in a drop-down menu below the field. You can also make the menu appear by clicking inside the field while your cursor is already inside it.

How to Edit An Address that you already Saved

  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Personal Stuff tab and find the “Form autofill” section.
  4. Click Show AutoFill profiles.
  5. Click to select the profile you’d like to edit or remove. To edit the profile, click Edit. To delete the profile, click Delete.
  6. Click Save when you’re done.

How to Disable Autofill

  1. Click the Tools chrome news  How to Set up and use Google Chromes Inbuilt Form Auto Fill menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Personal Stuff tab and find the “Form autofill” section.
  4. Select “Disable AutoFill.”

    As how-to’s they aren’t helpful because we can’t do them so I just ignore them for that now. Then by the time we get the features we’ll have forgotten your articles.

    As news bites about what’s coming they’re interesting though :-)

  • The built-in autofill feature can come in handy for most people, but it doesn’t always work, and it’s not flexible enough for some people. In that case, give my Autofill extension a try:
