Google is developing a mobile phone based payment system integrating the Chrome browser, Google Checkout ( Google’s Online Payment System and Android platform.

How This works
Merchant has a Google Checkout merchant account. Merchant/your shop guy, will add things you bought to a shopping card using his chrome browser, where this extension is installed.
He will then click on a green Google checkout button with an android logo on it.
It will generate a QR code which you will need to scan using your bar code scanner app on Android phone.
You will now get the link on your mobile phone to make payment using your Google Checkout Account !
The merchant has to set up a Google Checkout merchant account, populate the store with merchandise and then install the Android Payment Chrome Extension. From there, when a customer wants to buy something, the merchant creates a shopping cart with those items on their computer. The extension will then create a QR code, which when scanned with the phone will take the customer to Google Checkout page where they can complete the transaction. writes readwriteweb.com.
