I will tell you the secret tip if you promise me that you will not go back to firefox after reading this chrome extensions How To Use Google Chrome Extensions on Firefox well, if you ask me, I don’t see any reason to go back to firefox, but if you find any let me know …

There is a new Extension in the Firefox Addon gallery which lets you install Google Chrome Extensions on Firefox. It’s called Google Chrome extensions manager.

I am not sure how many people will use this, since most of stuff we have on Chrome Extensions gallery, have equal or similar thing on Firefox addon site, as far as I know. ( At least for now, I am sure Chrome will take things to another level gradually. )

Firefox Users – Install Addon from here

Steps To Set Up

  • Open Google Chrome (chrome extensions page doesn’t allow others browsers to download extension packages chrome extensions How To Use Google Chrome Extensions on Firefox ).
  • Go to https://chrome.google.com/extensions?hl=en-US.
  • Download an extension package.
  • extract it (it’s a zip file, maybe you have to rename the crx file to a zip file).
  • Go to your firefox profile folder (something like “C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\86tc9fbi.default\” under windows).
  • Go to the folder “extensions\googlechromeextensions@matoeil.fr\extensions\”.
  • Create a folder here, name it has the extension key preferably (something like “okngcjknhihjbpiencaanffnfcdlafic” for example).
  • copy & paste content of previously extracted package into this new folder.
  • That’s it. Just restart firefox now.

If you click on the “tools” menu, “Google Chrome addons” submenu, You’ll see extensions currently installed (for instance, the readme extension and your new installed extension).

So, if we have any firefox lovers in this crowd, and speak for your community. Are you going to use this addon ?
