Forums are always helpful, I haven’t given Chrome a spin yet. Firefox and Safari get the job done. What do ya think? :)

google chrome is worth a try, considering the speed etc .. but if you are obsessed with firefox plugins and themes, better wait for some more time :)

Hi. I actually need help. Well I have bad Internet connection (so bad that you don’t want to imagine it) and sometimes I have to disconnect and connect again to get connected.
Now the problem is that sometimes whenever I do this, Google Chrome crashes with the ‘Whoa. Google Chrome has just crashed…’ message or something similar. I have tried everything, from checking for spamware to removing the Default user profile.

Does anyone here have an idea what the problem is? I am currently running 6.0.408.1 beta version which is the latest version. I love Chrome so much, that I cannot abandon it now. But this problem is REALLY frustrating. Thanx

can you try changing it to stable version and see if it is an issue with the current beta release ? also, see what are the extensions, try removing them, and see if anyone of those extensions giving you trouble …

Thanks. I would try that.
Another quick question. I just activated Gmail Offline using my Google Chrome (on Windows 7 OS) and it works fine when I disconnect from the net while the browser is open (i.e. I’m still able to check my files offline). But once I close the browser and reopen it, I am told “No data exists for this user”. Do you know why??

chrome story July 12, 2010 at 12:15 pm

disable offline mode completely, removing details and install it again, should be ok :)

Mike Smith July 12, 2010 at 12:42 pm

Thanks for the prompt response.
I deleted all the data in C:\Users\{my user}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Plugin Data\Google Gears and then re-installed gmail offline. Seems now Gmail offline does not even open when I’m offline cos it tries to connect to the Internet. What do you think the problem is?

chrome story July 12, 2010 at 3:01 pm

not sure,sorry bro ..
did you try any other browser and see if its only chrome ?

Mike Smith July 12, 2010 at 3:43 pm

I actually found a way out. The gmail offline didn’t seem to work until I tried the url https://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox. Now it is working fine. Seems no other url works…lol. I don’t know if that is how it is supposed to be, but I’m glad it works now.
Thanks for all your support. I really love your blogs.

you are welcome, glad to know that u figured it out !

Did you get an entry in all programs list when you installed offline gmail ? clicking that one might take u directly to the correct URL..

Mike Smith July 12, 2010 at 5:12 pm

I did try the Offline GMail, but it didn’t work. I actually had to manually change the url it links to (by clicking on properties and changing the target to C:\Users\{My User}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe –app=https://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox
I’m glad I figured it out my way. Thanks again

My google chrome one day just stopped working.. Well, it’s still launching but not showing any web page at all. It just loads indefinitely with a white screen. The circle icon that shows the page is still loading is moving but nothing is happening. I tried uninstalling then re-installing but the same results. IE is working so it’s not in my connection. Any ideas what and how to fix this problem?

I know it really is smart to set up anti malware inside our computer to reduce malware. As I encountered the disaster in which seriously broke my personal computer system, choosing the proper anti malware is the most important thing for me. Can anyone give me a fantastic suggestion?
